Medication Refill Policy for Patients

Thank you for taking the time to review our office refill policy. The following guidelines are for your safety. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to discuss this with your provider. 

 

 

  • We request 48 hours notice for all refills. 

 

  • Controlled Substance Refills (medications including stimulants for ADHD, benzodiazepines for anxiety, pain medication, prescription sleep aids) require a visit every three months. An up to date Controlled Substance Agreement will also need to be on file. This is for your safety. 

 

  • Other longstanding medications require a minimum of an up to date annual physical, with sooner visits every 3 to 6 months (at an interval determined by your provider) for Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Anxiety, and Depression. 

 

  • If you are requesting a medication you have not filled in over one year, and you have not been seen for an annual physical, please schedule this physical either online (recommended) or by contacting the office. If the medication needs to be filled prior to this visit, please send a portal message to your provider once you have scheduled the visit. This is for your safety. 

 

  • Behavioral Health refills require a minimum of an up to date annual physical. Follow-up visits for refills in between the physical will be determined by your provider. 

 

  • Dermatology refills that are over one year old require an up to date annual exam with Dermatology. A 30 day prescription can be filled if you have a visit scheduled within 30 days of the request. This is for your safety. 

 

  • Endocrinology refills require visits at the following intervals:

    • Testosterone refills require a visit and labs every 6 months.

    • Insulin pump supply refills require visits every 6 months.

    • Weight loss medications require visits every 3 months.

 

  • All refills will also be done at the time of your annual physical exam

  • Please note that your provider may tell you they would like to see you at sooner intervals than listed above.
